Learn About The Bible Translation Work of the Micheals Family

Do you have a heart for missions and children? Teaching children of missionaries (MK's) gives you the opportunity to serve TWO significant groups: Missionaries AND their kids! Maggie Ferris shares how you can have a significant role in the task of Bible Translation by meeting the educational needs of students. Maggie tells her story of working and teaching at Ukarumpa International School, the nuts and bolts of teaching at UIS and what it's like living in a small mission community overseas. Locations of other schools are also highlighted.

Maggie and her husband Wayne served in Papua New Guinea from 1996-2018. Their 3 children grew up there and graduated from Ukarumpa International School (UIS) before returning to the US for college. Now adults, each of them would say they wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.

Maggie was involved at Ukarumpa International School for almost 23 years. During those years she served as Primary School Librarian, Secondary Campus English and Drama teacher and also as the Drama Director. From 2012-2018 Maggie was the Assistant Principal at the Secondary campus (grades 6-12) and was in charge of overseeing student life.
